Best of 2019 – Sean’s Choice

Sean brings us his end of year round-up.

Best Album

This one took me so long, because this year was a blinder for music, but I whittled it down to three.
Picking a winner from those three was almost impossible, but in the end, it has to go to Coheed and Cambria. Their album ‘The Unheavenly Creatures’ (shortened for ease) was just flawless, to me, and just about managed to edge out my second and third choices.
Any other year, they’d have taken the top spot themselves, but sadly for Collibus and Ghost, they have to settle for second and third respectively.

Best Single

Coheed and Cambria again, for their single ‘Old Flames’, which ended up being my favourite song off the album to boot.
It’s catchy, it’s fun, and the video is brilliant as well.

Best Movie

I’m not much of a movie person, and honestly cant think of a new film I saw this year, aside from the latest Avengers film, so, sadly, it has to be that.

Best Game

Dead Cells.
Truly brilliant game, and no other game comes anywhere near close. An exceptional Rogue-Like/Metroidvania style game that comes with difficulty, but something you just can’t stop playing. A wonderful “one more run” game.

Its been a lean year for me gig wise, so there’s not a lot to choose from. However gig wise, it has to be Iron Maiden. I saw them in Birmingham, and they blew me away at every point, from stage setup, song choice, crowd interaction, from tip to bottom is was amazing.

Ones to watch…

Bandwise I have three to look out for; Primitai, Twisted Illusion, and Collibus. All three are bands that deserve to be household names.
